National Gingerbread House Competition – Whether you’ve got youngsters or are just young at heart, the 24th Annual National Gingerbread House Competition™ is scheduled a must-see holiday world of wonder. The contest is, November 21, with the winning creations on display beginning Sunday, November 27 – January 5, 2017 at the Omni Grove Park
Inn. One of the nation’s most celebrated and competitive holiday events, it has become a true family holiday tradition. $10 outdoor parking charge for all drive on guests which goes to charity.

Santaland Diaries – The David Sedaris gut-busting Christmas comedy classic is brought to life by the players at Asheville Community TheatreThis one-man-act features the more naughty-than-nice misadventures of a Macy’s Christmas elf that will have you laughing out loud all the way home. Performance is held in the 35below intimate black box space; tickets $15.

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland Light Show at the Agricultural Center – Warm up the car and head down to Fletcher for this amazing, musical spectacle! Besides cruising through the fantastical array of lighted Christmas characters, you can take the kiddos to Santa’s Village for photos with Santa, s’mores roasting, a bouncy house, ornaments, games and more. From dusk until 10 p.m. every night starting November 23, admission starts at $25 per car or van.
